Chapter 17:
Inside the disgusting rotting door was an equally disgusting and rotting monster (or so it appeared). Twenty-eight feet tall, globs of drool rolling out of its slimy lips, pointed yellow teeth, five arms and three gigantic wrinkly legs, hungry steam pouring out of it’s mouth as it stared menacingly through two pairs of yellow eyes, this creature had both of the girls running for their lives. They skidded down corridors, raced through staircases, only stopping when they fell and banged their knees. When they finally realized that they weren’t being chased at all, every single bone in their teenaged bodies was screaming with pain. Worse than that was the fact that they were lost.
“Maybe we should look for sunlight or some kind of person that can help us,” Hannah suggested weakly, rubbing her ankle.
“Hmmm. Should we go right or left?”
“Left. Definitely,” said Hannah. They peered out of the doorway that they found themselves in, checking for anything suspicious. Seeing nothing, Gwen took the lead as they began to walk across the murky hallway. They found another door. But this one was mint-colored and would give you the feeling of a doctor’s office. Hannah turned the sparkly doorknob cautiously, and sneaked a peek inside. She saw a desk with neatly stacked papers and pens arranged just-so. There were squishy armchairs along the room, and as the two of them stepped inside quietly, a lady about five and a half feet tall walked in. She had her brown hair neatly combed back into the tightest bun that Gwen had ever seen. She wore pink pearls around her neck, and a business suit with a tight skirt. Her pale face was covered in white make up, making her look exactly like a ghost, with burgundy lipstick on her face. But what made Gwen stare was the tentacles on her arm and suction cups on her legs. Then, Hannah started to change. Her pretty arms became tentacles, too. Her neat feet became two blue octopus legs.
“I got her,” said Hannah in a voice that Gwen had never heard before. So dry and caked with evil.
“I told you I’d find her, Mom.”
WHOA! Didn't see that coming. I've never read a short(-ish) story with so many twists and turns. I cannot think how you'll wrap this all up now.
(I've given you several hundred suggestions, but you appear to have turned a deaf ear to them all. Darn it.)
