Chapter Six:
“What?” Mandy asked.
“You have a HUGE tarantula on your face!!!!” Gwen shouted.
“Oh. He’s my little brother’s spider, Rex. ROBBY!!!!” she said.
A boy around eight or nine came into the room, looking sour.
“What?” he said.
“Get your spider out of my room,” Mandy answered calmly. She picked up the spider from the floor, (It had crawled off of Mandy’s face, deciding that he liked the dirty laundry better.) and threw it at Robby.
“Hey! Rex is very delicate. Don’t just throw him around like that!” he shouted angrily, storming out of the room.
“Little brothers are so annoying!” Mandy whispered when Robby was out of the room. Tim was being very quiet.
“What’s up, Tim? Why are you being so quiet?” Gwen asked curiously.
“Nothing. Just thinking,” he said, in a voice deeper than usual.
Gwen shrugged and said to Mandy, “I need to go. Megan will get mad if I’m not home on time for my mom’s after party dinner.”
Tim and Mandy waved goodbye as she got up and left the room.
Gwen walked back to her house, and saw her sister fumbling with an animal cage that was sticking out of her car.
What was TIm thinking?
