Chapter 5:
But things did change. Tim and Mandy were always off doing other things and never things she suggested. They ignored her and were always looking at each other.
“Hello?” Gwen asked impatiently. It was after school, and she was in Mandy’s room. Tim and Mandy were making lame jokes and laughing at weird times. Gwen had had enough.
“That’s it! If you two are just going to ignore everything I do like I don’t exist, fine. If your ‘hormones’ are going to ruin our friendship, fine. I’m not going to stand around and pretend that I don’t care. I’ve been putting up with this four a month now, and I can’t take it! You’re probably not even listening!” she shouted angrily.
But Tim and Mandy were staring at her.
“But I don’t understand. We’ve been listening to you all the time! Why are you upset?” Tim asked.
“You haven’t! You’ve just been looking at each other!” Gwen was slightly confused now. She looked at Mandy, who had a giant tarantula on her face, and then screamed.
That would be very ICKY and weird thing to see.
There is no way to avoid feeling like a fifth wheel when around friends who are going together. It will calm down after a while.
