What if the sensitive James Ivory film "A Room With a View" had been directed by Tony Scott?
Lucy: (standing in her English drawing room with George) Mr. Emerson, I forbid you to pursue me anymore. I am engaged to Cecil Vyse, who is a proper English gentleman. What will you ever amount to? Your only dream has been the motor-cross circuit. And it’s 1895 -- the automobile hasn't even been invented yet! You're a loser!George: But you can't marry him!
Lucy: And why not?
George: Because of what's between us!
Lucy: What're you talking about?
George: Like, um, love and stuff. (Grabs Lucy and attempts to kiss her)
Lucy: (breaks away, runs to the desk, reaches in and pulls out a Magnum .44) Get out before I blast a hole in your smoking jacket!
George: Okay, Lucy, but when I make it big on the circuit at Le Mans, you'll be sorry! (Throws open the French doors and runs out of the mansion. Jumps into a shiny 1940 Ford Coupe, and peels out, spraying gravel to the tune of Kenny Loggins' "Danger Zone". A few peacocks hit the windshield.)
Lucy: (running after him) Wait, George! Wait! I love you and stuff!
