One of the best sci-fi novels of all time, Neuromancer, turns 25 this year. A look back at what it got right, and what may be yet to come.
Speaking of what is yet to come, what if blow-'em-up director Michael Bay pitched The Great Gatsby?? Aaaand ... ACTION
Iran or Star Wars? I didn't get a perfect score, much to my surprise.
The governor trash-talked the Legislature for conducting a committee hearing on the practice of docking cow tails. But a few weeks ago, Arnold had a set of brass bull testicles delivered to the Senate Speaker. So I guess the message is, if you're gonna discuss bovine body parts in Sacramento, keep it funny. (Or stick to boy parts.)
15 of the creepiest vintage ads of all time - nice grouping!
The Lord of the Rings as told in Dungeons and Dragons style [comic]
Twitter zzz machine - every time someone posts "zzz", anywhere in the world, the birdies sing. Pretty!
Meeting ticker - start it running before you leave for your next meeting. (No fair forwarding this to Arnold - I don't want to hear he used this knowledge against some poor Legislative committee hearing.)
And for the aspiring hypochondriac, NCBI ROFL, a blog that shares a funny medical journal article every day!
I just noticed today's post has nothing to do with dogs, and almost nothing to do with cognition. I think I need a new schtick!

Frankly, strip away the layers of acquired sanctity about LOTR and you'll find--no big surprise here--the entire corpus of D and D imagery and mythology staring back at you: dungeons, a dragon (by proxy), magical artifacts, elves, dwarves, humans, orcs, goblins and Very Good versus Very Bad. Throw in a kender and a pair of D20s and presto chango: and D&D adventure all set up and rarin to go.
Just, please, no giant robots or Uwe Boll references...
