Alderan is now doing its job as a long-term source of easily acessible metal-wealthy meteors. Let's not call it a "Death Star" but rather a "solar-scale recycling machine"!
Maybe Governor Tarkin targeted Alderan because of its carbon footprint? Perhpoas the Empire's attempts at "greenig" the galaxy were deliberately distorted by the corporate interests backing the so-called "rebel alliance"?
