Happy Monday! Did you watch the Oscars last night? I was at my mom's house, when I wasn't on the road. And as a rule, I always skip the Academy Awards. But I never miss the fashion recaps the day after. I used to call it a guilty pleasure, but Go Fug Yourself has helped me look deep, deep within and admit how much I like to read about Hollywood costumage; now I've dropped the word "guilty".

I spent a red-carpet-free evening avoiding an overly crowded birthday party and watching a made-for-Brit-TV drama about a member of the House of Lords who championed the cause of a child murderer. To round out the picture of unrestrained fun, add a Wolfgang Puck pizza and a glass of red wine. I'm still sort of giddy.

I agree with you. Still images and sarcasm are the only way to enjoy award shows.
