Well, bad news from the doctor today. The kid has a fractured bone, this time in her left foot. She hurt herself on the playground again. She'd been complaining about a hurt foot, and when the pain didn't go away after the bruise did, I called the doctor and then took her in. It's half-healed by now, but still gives her a lot of trouble.
This happened last year, but it was on the right ankle, and it was a tiny bone nobody ever heard of before. Is she not getting enough calcium? The doctor seemed to think so. That's it: milk therapy begins now. Bought her ice cream tonight - there's more calcium for ya.
Tomorrow we go to the orthopedics department, where they'll possibly fit her for another walking boot. Poor kid. She is very, very bummed. The thing is, she's been running on this foot lately, and even dancing. It's hard to gauge the seriousness of injuries with that kind of threshold for pain. She ought to whine and mope around more in life, like us.
Ice cream therapy for my granddaughter. NOW!!
