With bated breath, everybody playing Patriside's Evil Music Mix exchange has been waiting for this day. Last month, each of us made a bootleg CD of our favorite, most evilest music we could find. But we did not include a playlist; it was up to the recipient to take a stab at what was on there.
According to the rules, today (the day of ultimate evil, 6/6/06) we post the playlist. And then troll around the blogs on the above link, looking for what must be the playlist we got in exchange.
The mix I received was really good. It leans quite a bit toward the country-crossover genre, which is foreign to me. But dang, those crossing-over country folks sure do know their evil. Some great stuff on there. I don't know any of their names so it's going to be challenging finding my benefactor. I think I recognize Bob Segar on track one, and there's that Johnny Cash / Nine Inch Nails song. Two good leads there.
So without further ado, Beancounter's Evil Music Mix:
1. Barry McGuire – Eve of Destruction
2. Disturbed – Land of Confusion
3. The Who – Behind Blue Eyes
4. Filter – Skinny
5. Ray Charles – Hit The Road Jack
6. Wilderness – Arkless
7. Mountain Goats – No Children
8. Some angry woman (on an answering machine, whose voice got immortalized forever on the internet) – Messin’ With My Man
9. Local H – Toxic
10. Pink Floyd – Have a Cigar
11. Poe – Terrible Thought
12. Radiohead – Knives Out
13. Joe Strummer – Get Down Moses
14. Violent Femmes – Color Me Once
15. Eagles – Witchy Woman
16. Wolf Parade – You Are A Runner
17. The Who – Won’t Get Fooled Again
18. Dropkick Murphys - Amazing Grace
This mix is a reflection of my life: seventies rock (BB's influence) mixed with 90's and new millenium randomness (my own foraging ways).
In my opinion, the opposite of evil is redemption; hence the butt-kicking "Amazing Grace", which I think I originally picked up from Ricky.
Those who know me well will marvel that I limited myself to one Radiohead song.
I'm loathe to post the music here. Anybody wants a copy of the CD, drop me an e-mail. I'll just send you one. I mean, I forgot your birthday. It's the least I can do.
So that's the mix. Great game!
Oooh I'd love a copy of your mix. If you would like one of mine, I'll send you one as well.

What a great mix! :)
I ALMOST used Disturbed's Forsaken, but changed my mind at the last minute.
This was such fun for me!

Wow, that's a great mix! I didn't get yours, though, and I'm still searching for the culprit!
What fun, eh? :-)

Hell yes, I'll take a copy... lots of artists I've never heard before, always a good thing.
I hope you'll play again; I'm posting info on the next mixmania! in a few days.

What about Dark Side of the Moon? I like the two Who entries. Never thought of Pete and Roger as children of the beast but it does make sense.
