It's Saturday, so you have plenty of time to pore (pour?) over these scanned photos of the 1979 Sears Wish Book. [via BoingBoing]
Did you study every page of the wish book when you were a kid, and circle things, and make your Xmas list off of this book? My brother and I did. This collection really takes me back. In 1979, I was too old for all the Pooh stuff on these pages, but I probably would have worn a set of geniune Mork suspenders for a day or two ...
I wants me some Mork suspenders... oh hang on, they're braces. What was that quote about two countries separated by a common language? ;-)

Braces? Everyone knows, braces are what the orthodontist puts on your teeth!
What are 'suspenders' in England? Or should I ask?

Oh God, yes I did that! And do you recall (or are you too young...?) one of the big thick catalogs and a guy model in Jockey underwwear whose "thing" was hanging out? It was back in the 70s, and I remember telling my mom that she really MUST keep that catalog because someday it would be worth something. She didn't listen to me, though. This was Big News back then. (As a teenager, it was the first time I'd ever gotten a glimpse of a "thing". It was rather blurry as I recall).
