Just to let you know, San Francisco is still there, just hanging around, looking too damn attractive for its own good. BB was our driver - he's lived in SF on occasion. I know we hit nearly every tourist spot in the city - the places the natives avoid like the plague.
We visited Coit Tower, Pier 39 (for lunch - I was outvoted), and Lombard Street, which is famous for being the World's Most Crookedest Street. Nobody who wasn't a tourist came near that block. We laughed at the people who slowly drove the windy street, their digital cameras held out the sunroof.
No "Bueller Day" would have been complete without someone who was actually playing hookey from school. To make up for the time Bunny lost memorizing California geography and weather patterns, we watched surfers riding the waves. Doesn't this illustrate tidal patterns better than a book?
After that we toured the fortress at Fort Point, the Presidio (the military base at the north end of the peninsula), and ended the day at Union Square. Desperate for ice cream, we hit the Ben and Jerry's there.
I did catch sight of the O'Farrell Theatre but I wasn't quick enough with the camera. BB couldn't drive by fast enough, as the marquee alone would have taught Bunny more about human anatomy than we were prepared for. Other, less salacious photos here.
How is it you managed to spend an entire day in SF and yet return to Sacto without a SINGLE photo of guys in leather chained to each other or even a Village People cover band?
And how is the Prince of the chalemeau register these days?
