LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - Two men have pleaded not guilty to promoting obscenity for allegedly building a snow phal1us in their front yard.
Neighbors found the sculpture offensive and, although someone destroyed it, the two were cited.
[The] attorney, Michael Vang, said it's not clear how the sculpture was obscene. He accused police of selective enforcement.
Selective enforcement! Yes! Why isn't everybody cited for weewee sculptures, eh? It would definitely be worthwhile for the defense to ask the court to look at the big-picture, particularly the high esteem in which other cultures regard the mighty pha1lus.
Though I grant you, it won't be much of a defense after the Laramie district attorney refers the judge to a handy globe, thus documenting how far away Japan is from North Dakota.
Honestly, Laramie isn't exactly known as a bastion of open-mindedness. Remember Matthew Shepard? Yep, same place.

Heh... Only in Wyoming. And maybe in Montana. In Marin, we would hold and exhibition and call it "art." Assuming, of course, it ever snowed here.
