We did do some practical things this weekend, in between bouts of nerves on my part. At the mall, us girls got spiffy new haircuts, BB found a new pair of hightops, and oh yes, Bunny finally got her ears pierced.
We were in Cl@ire's, a store where they do ear piercings all day long (amazing!). I enquired, and learned that the piercing gun's entire cartridge, including earring, comes in a sterile pack that is not reused. I decided this was about as hygienic as we could expect in life, so I finally agreed to let her go for it.
I cautioned her that she could still take a few days to make up her mind, but she was determined to get her ears pierced right away. Nothing could dissuade her, even watching a 3 month-old baby have her tiny lobes pierced, while sitting in her daddy's lap. Oh, the tears! From everybody, not just the baby! But when it was Bunny's turn, she climbed on the stool and said fire away. We were pretty proud of her.
Yipes. We're facing the same thing right now. I haven't committed, but Eliz has decided the time is ripe. ack.
