Well, we foisted Bunny off on her friend M's family last night, so BB and I could go out to dinner and a movie. Dinner was at Tahoe Joe's, the steakhouse chain in the neighborhood. They treated us well - we know enough to stick with their specialty steaks. And a glass of the house red. And a side order of marinated mushrooms.
The movie was "Terminal". I can't recommend it - sorry, Steven and Tom, your Oscar (tm) and Golden Globe (tm) nominations will have to wait until next time. But then, I think you already knew that, which is why you released "Terminal" at this time of year, instead of in the fall with all the good movies!
It was one of those Indomitable Human Spirit movies that's supposed to uplift you. That much I get. And oh, uplift abounded. But the ending (when it finally got around to ending) seemed written by committee. Steven and Tom could have ended the movie in any of a half-dozen ways - but the actual ending they chose perplexed me. They failed to wrap up all the other disparate plot points. Odd. "Terminal" gets two Beans (tm) down. Wait for video.
Also saw Terminal last night, and have to agree. It was an okay film, but not a great "film of a decade" for either Steven or Tom.

The strange thing is that the story that they based it on seems like it would make a great movie.....

Ah... you see, they left it open so they can make "Terminal II." Which, in my humble opinion, won't fly. (Pun intended)
