Anthony, look - kindred spirits!
The Joy Luck Fight Club is a fantastic movie that merges together the heretofor never combined genres of action, drama, and chick flick.

My favorite: "The fifth rule is: only one flashback at a time."

Genius. All it needs is an ending where the heroine and her fictional alter egos blow up a truck and then drive off a steep cliff into a national Mah-Johnngh Convention and you would have the greatest cross-gender movie of all time!
I remember seeing Joy Luck Club in a theatre some years ago and whispering to my (male) movie companion "I swear to god if I see one more touching mother/daughter moment I'm going to puke". Needless to say, one minute later...Mah-Johnggh Dearest!!
How about a remake of "Thelma and Louise" with Hillary Duff and Courtney Love?

I'm surprised you actually went to that movie. There was no illusion ever that it wasn't an emotional girlfest.

There's no telling what Anthony will choose to see at the movies - or what he'll like. ::points to Exhibit A - "Meet the Feebles"::

I went and saw "Joy Luck" simply because at that point in the 90s it looked as though Wayne Wang was poised to become the first "superstar" Asian-American director and I was being supportive of his work. Had I known what was waiting for me I likely would have waited for the video (this was pre-DVD). On the whole, I prefer "Eat A Bowl Of Tea," Wang's extremely funny and sharp roman a clef about how parents can make you impotent.
"Feebles" is God. On that point I remain adamant.
