I don't usually do these question memes, but since I completed the Q&A photolog this month, the flood-gates are open to all sorts of meaningless revelations about life on this side of my computer. Here you go, my answers to the "23 Questions" from Chasing Daisy:
1: Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, find line 4. Write down what it says:
“Do you think I will let you plot against my child’s life as you have plotted
- Marion Zimmer Bradley, “The Mists of Avalon”
2: Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. What do you touch first?
The flat-bed scanner
3: What is the last thing you watched on TV?
The last of that Euro-type remake of the movie “Charade”, starring Mark Wahlburg. I can’t remember the title.
4: WITHOUT LOOKING, guess what the time is:
7:00 a.m.
5: Now look at the clock; what is the actual time?
7:02.
6: With the exception of the computer, what can you hear?
Daisy’s dog tags rattling. She’s impatient with me for sitting at the computer again. Also Muffy's snoring. She's taking her post-breakfast nap.
7: When did you last step outside? What were you doing?
Last night around 8:00 p.m. I was unloading the back of the truck, which was full of boxes, textbooks, computer parts, and other bits of jetsam from my husband’s classroom.
8: Before you came to this website, what did you look at?
My closet. Lord, what a scary place.
9: What are you wearing?
Khaki-colored slacks, white shell (short-sleeved blouse), dark green jacket, and brown flats with buckles. Silver dangly earrings and a barrette. I’m dressed for work.
10: Did you dream last night?
Yes! And you were there, and you … and you!
11: When did you last laugh?
Last night around 10:30.
12: What is on the walls of the room you are in?
A diploma, a bulletin board with out of date info on it, the front page of a calendar I created last year, and some of my daughter’s now-famous artwork. Oh, and a big poster of "Wizard of Oz".
13: Seen anything weird lately?
Only on blogs. This site, for example. She has the damndest assortment of pasttimes I've ever seen! Makes me wonder what the hell I do with all my time.
14: What do you think of this quiz?
Good - questions are rather random, but not invasive.
15: What is the last film you saw?
”This is Spinal Tap”. Hence the laughter at 10:30. I love that movie. These days, it’s fun to watch it, just to pick out the casting extras from 1983 who later became stars in their own right.
16: If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy first?
A new house, laid out like a hacienda, totally handicap-friendly. Later, I would set up an endowment fund, and become a professional philanthropist, as it were. But you didn't ask that.
17: Tell me something about you that I don't know.
When I eat sunflower seeds, I don’t spit out the shells. I eat the whole seed. I know it’s bad for your stomach; that’s why I strictly limit my intake. But they’re so yummy to me.
18: If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt or politics, what would you do?
Boy, I’m going to get abuse for this one. It's amazingly un-PC, but here goes. I would put Israel and Palestine on time-out. One big time-out. They must stay in their country together, with no TV, no video games, and no supper, until they learn to get along, or until they kill each other.
19: Do you like to dance?
Well, sure! You askin’?
20: George Bush: is he a power-crazy nutcase or some one who is finally doing something that has needed to be done for years?
Nutjob. Worse than Reagan, and that’s really saying something.
21: Imagine your first child is a girl, what do you call her?
Trick question. I already have a daughter. I call her Bunny on this blog, though her real name is much prettier, and will suit her better when she grows up to be a famous ambassador and wins the Nobel Peace Prize for putting Israel and Palestine on time-out.
22: Imagine your first child is a boy, what do you call him?
Lucas, David, or Samuel.
23: Would you ever consider living abroad?
Yes! Would love that! Depending on the location, of course. For example, after this is published, I won't be at all popular in Tel Aviv.
I just visited the Who Is Pam Photo Album. A great idea. I loved it.

Oh oh oh SUCH a MZB fan! I wanted to be Morgaine...
Failing that, can I run your foundation? It what I do best!

I read this book twice, and may feel like a third reading very soon! Of course you may run my foundation. Our hacienda will be near a major university in the Bay Area, which will be convenient.

I think I'll read it again soon too. I really liked it and it has been years! probably 10! since I read it. Maybe even more.
these are good questions.
