Well, nobody tells me anything. When I volunteered to help build a playground at my kid's school, I pictured a few dozen of us on site. I had no idea the scope of the effort. But a nonprofit org called KaBOOM, in conjunction with Americorps, meant the whole project was turned up to eleven. It was fantastic. We had hundreds of people, tons of donated food, and plenty of media attention. We built a big play structure, constructed two gardens with fencing, gave the kids more picnic benches, and painted a mural, as well as big bright graphics all over the place. I didn't do the cement-pouring work, but I did lend a hand on everything else. So sore today!
Here's the news story - the video doesn't seem to be working but maybe it will switch on later.
